The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) has completed a large-scale environmental clean-up campaign targeting meadows, wilderness areas and popular camping sites across Qatar as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the country's natural environment.
Conducted over the past six months, the campaign focused on preserving vegetation, reducing the environmental impact of waste and rehabilitating natural landscapes affected by unsound practices.
The clean-up covered several meadows, including Umm Ashkhout, Al-Shaflahiyah, Muqaytina, Al-Nu'man, Al-Ma'ida and Aisha, in addition to camping areas such as Al-Mazrou'a, Al-Jumailiyah and Al-Sana'.
According to the ministry, the campaign resulted in the removal of large quantities of waste and debris, helping restore the affected sites, improve the surrounding environment and protect wildlife and vegetation.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change called on visitors to Qatar's desert and wilderness areas to follow responsible environmental practices, dispose of waste only in designated locations and help preserve the country's natural heritage.
The ministry stressed that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and encouraged public cooperation to ensure Qatar's natural landscapes remain clean and sustainable for future generations.
