With FIFA World Cup lurking around the corner, the country has made several changes in variouds fields to ensure smooth functioning of the major sporting event that is to be held on 21 November 2022.
Among some of the changes made is that of academic relevance. H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, issued Ministerial Resolution No. (7) of 2022, altering some provisions of Ministerial Resolutions No. (20) of 2021 and No. (2) of 2022 pertaining to the annual calendar of schools for academic years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.

The dates for the second round of exams for all grades from first to twelfth - day and adult education - for the academic year 2021/2022 will be August 14 to August 18, 2022, as per the decision.
The decision also stated that students will begin school on August 21, 2022 for the academic year 2022/2023.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has also announced the opening of early registration for adult education for the 2022/2023 academic year, which will take place from April 26 to June 2 via its online portal.
Those interested in enrolling in the 2022/2023 academic year should visit the ministry's online portal and register, according to Ali Jassim Al Kuwari, Director of Schools Affairs. He stated that students must complete their registration, provide the necessary documentation, and obtain their academic books. Students who want to change schools can do so beginning in August.
