People living at The Pearl-Qatar will now find it a bit easier to get things done from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) after a new service complex and service centre was opened at the premises yesterday.
Director General of the General Directorate of Passports Ahmad Al Ateeq inaugurated the complex in the presence of several top officials, reported Gulf Times.
The new centre will provide people with services of seven ministries —Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Kahramaa.
“The new services centre is our 23rd such facility. We’ve similar centres across the country and it helps facilitate the public to access MoI services from the nearest places,” Al Ateeq told The Peninsula.
In the beginning, the centre will be open only during morning hours, between 7am and 1pm. However, after due observations, it is expected to increase the working times to two shifts, in the morning and evening.
The facility, which is located behind the Woqod petrol station at The Pearl-Qatar, is expected to ease access of government services for the public.
Qatar Tribune reported that the facility will also provide help with authentication of various documents.
