Starting tonight, June 11, 2020, a partial closure in one direction of the B-Ring Road will begin, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced.

This closure will be in the direction from Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection, known as the Crazy Signal, to Al Jaidah Bridge Roundabout.

It will be implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will remain in effect for six months.

The closure will allow completion of the necessary infrastructure works under the B-Ring Road Development Project.

During the closure, road users coming from Al Matar Street, Al Rufaa Intersection or Grand Hamad Intersection toward B Ring Road can use Gran Hamad Intersection to get on the A Ring Road (Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Thani Street) and use Naser bin Khalid Intersection to reach Fereej Abdelaziz Intersection.

They could also continue straight toward Electricity Intersection and then turn left for the Al Jaidah Bridge Roundabout to reach their destinations.

Conversion of Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection to a Temporary Roundabout

Ashghal also announced today that the Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection on B Ring Road will be converted into a temporary roundabout, while two lanes will be kept open in all directions.

The change will begin on Saturday, June 13 and remain in effect for six months.

Ashghal said this is to “enable expansion and upgrading works on Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection and installation of new traffic lights, as part of the B Ring Road Development Project.”

The authority will install the appropriate road signs advising motorists of the closure.

All road users are urged to comply with the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety as well as that of others.
