Qatar Charity’s Hussein Abdul Ismail Ashkanani Dialysis Center in Sudan has been established to support those patients suffering from kidney failure. More importantly, individuals belonging to the vulnerable section of society and low-income people from neighboring states have been targeted.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dr. Osama Abdulrahim, Acting Minister of health, Dr. Heba Muhammad Ali, Minister of Finance, and HE Abdulrahman Bin Ali al-Kubeisi, ambassador of Qatar to Sudan.
According to Dr, Muhammad al Sabiq, director of the National Kidney Center in Sudan, there is a growing need for such centers due to the current pressure and lack of services available throughout the nation. Currently, there are nearly 7,000 patients with kidney failure.
Dr. Mohamed Ziyad, director of Bashair Hospital in the densely populated Maio, stated that the area currently has a small kidney center with limited capacity, resulting in lack of provisions for a large number of individuals affected with kidney failure.
Qatar Charity’s new health center has helped overcome this obstacle by the opening of the center built inside Bashair hospital.

Qatar Charity’s newly established dialysis center contains thirty dialysis machines, thirty beds, two separate wards, a break room and an office. The establishment has cost nearly 3.8 million Qatari riyals, and are among many previously established health centers in Sudan.
Hussein Karmash, Director of Qatar Charity’s Sudan office, indicated that there are 11 new health centers being implemented by Qatar Charity in various states of Sudan.
HE Abdulrahman Bin Ali al-Kubeisi affirmed that the State of Qatar extends support to all, noting the overwhelming response that the “Peace for Sudan” campaign received.
