With only a few days to go until the blessed month of Ramadan is upon us, Qatar Charity (QC) has announced the launch of its Ramadan campaign, valued at QR119 million.

The campaign, which will be run under the slogan "With Good Reassure," is expected to support as many as 2.4 million people across 31 countries, including Qatar.

Under the campaign, QC will provide Iftar meals to people within as well as outside Qatar. The organization will distribute food baskets through specially designated vehicles.

QC said it will ensure all safety measures are adopted as the campaign is rolled out, in light of the current COVID-19 situation.

This year's QC Ramadan campaign has three main projects. These include Iftar food baskets and meals, the distribution of Zakat Al-Fitr, and giving out Eid clothes.

The campaign will also focus on providing special assistance to deal with COVID-19 to beneficiaries in Qatar as well as the other countries.

QC's Ramadan campaign builds on Qatar's ongoing efforts to support global efforts to fight COVID-19, as the pandemic grips the world. Qatar continues to ease the challenges faced by those impacted by the situation. 

QC is coordinating with relevant Qatari authorities to implement the campaign.

The campaign's focus within Qatar is on assisting as many as 420,900 people, at a total cost of QR 34,029,352, according to Assistant Chief Executive Officer of QC Communications Development Sector, Mohamed Rashid Al Kaabi.

The official lauded the support QC's previous Ramadan projects have received and urged support for the current campaign to reach the 2,380,928 beneficiaries inside and outside Qatar, at a total cost of QR 119,170,178.

QC plans to launch a link together with Al-Meera Consumer Goods Company to provide food baskets to those in need locally.

Announcements regarding this will be made on QC's social media pages.

Moreover, for those who wish to pay their Zakat and charity easily, the Qatar e-Charity website, application and several other digital tools can be used.

QC will implement the campaign, which includes awareness activities, through QC's field offices and local partners.

The campaign will also gear efforts toward providing relief food aid in areas of disasters and crises, to help displaced persons and refugees, and those suffering from the impact of the current pandemic.

Meanwhile, health authorities in Qatar continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
