Qatar's Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan Reach Asian Games Beach Volleyball Final

Qatar's beach volleyball duo Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan have advanced to the men's final at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after defeating Thailand in straight sets.

The Qatari pair secured a 2-0 victory in Thursday's semi-final, edging a closely contested opening set 23-21 before taking control of the second to win 21-12.

Younousse and Tijan will face Indonesia in the gold-medal match on Saturday, October 3. The Indonesian pair booked their place in the final with a 2-0 semi-final victory over Japan, winning 21-19 and 21-18.

The Qatar duo have maintained a perfect record throughout their Asian Games campaign. They topped Group A after victories over the Philippines and Oman before progressing through the knockout rounds and securing their place in the final.

Younousse and Tijan are now one victory away from claiming a third consecutive Asian Games gold medal. The pair won the men's beach volleyball title at Jakarta 2018 and successfully defended it at Hangzhou 2022.

A victory in Saturday's final would extend Qatar's dominance in the event and give Younousse and Tijan a third successive continental Games title.
