The State of Qatar has strongly condemned and denounced Israeli airstrikes targeting Abu Al Duhur Air Base in Idlib, Syria, describing the attacks as a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Israel’s continued violation of the sovereignty of countries in the region without deterrence reflects what it described as a dangerous approach of imposing a fait accompli by force and disregarding international legitimacy.
The ministry said the international community must deal firmly with Israel’s actions and assume its responsibilities in putting an end to violations of international law.
It warned that the absence of accountability and deterrence encourages Israel to persist in such violations, threatens security and stability, and risks drawing the region into a wider cycle of escalation.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm stance in support of the Syrian Arab Republic, affirming its solidarity with the Syrian government and its support for all efforts aimed at preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
