Qatar has always stood its ground against violence and called for dialogue and peaceful solutions to various crises across the region and the world.
In recent times, Qatar played a significant role in supporting peace efforts in countries such as Sudan and Afghanistan.
Ranked as the most peaceful country in the MENA region by the Global Peace Index 2020, Qatar got high evaluation rates in a number of areas including the extent of crime in society and stability of political situations, among others.
Now, in light of the recent events provoked by a speech delivered recently by French President, Emmanuel Macron, Qatar has voiced its stance on the issue.
The State of Qatar expressed Monday its condemnation of the great escalation of populist rhetoric inciting the abuse of religions and affirmed its total rejection of all forms of hate speech based on belief, race or religion. #QNA pic.twitter.com/UUUaz4iPhu

In a statement, issued by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Qatar said while it will continue to support the values of tolerance and co-existence and to work toward the establishment of the principles of international peace and security, it calls on everyone to stand up to their responsibilities by rejecting hate speech and incitement.
Qatar condemned the dramatic escalation of populist rhetoric that incites religious abuse and reiterated its total rejection of all forms of hate speech based on belief, race, or religion.
"This inflammatory speech has witnessed a dangerous turn with the increasing institutional and systematic calls for the repeated targeting of nearly two billion Muslims around the world through the deliberate offending of the noble prophet Mohammed, Peace be Upon Him," the MOFA statement underlined.
This has stimulated increased hostility against Muslims, who constitute a key component of society in different countries of the world, the statement mentioned.
Earlier this week, several shopping centers and delivery apps in Qatar withdrew French products, joining a growing global movement by Muslims across the world boycotting French products in response to the French President's remarks.
