During his hosting of the Police Program on Qatar Radio, Major Al-Ruwaili stressed that the digital identity card project is a strategic project that is considered a qualitative leap in electronic services at the state level, as it improves security and allows for the expansion of public services and the promotion of digital transformation. He explained that the digital identity card is a smartphone application that can be used to conduct electronic transactions in a safer and more convenient manner, and that the user does not need to use a card reader to access electronic services on the Ministry of Interior's or other government websites.
This will be the case for citizens and inhabitants, departments and ministries of the interior, ministries of state, and bodies and institutions in general, according to Major Al-Ruwaili.
He went on to say that the application's initial (current) phase can be utilized for a variety of services, including:
- Verification of your identity
- Access to the Ministry of the Interior's website in a secure and timely manner without the use of an automatic card reader
- Electronic stamping of Ministry of Interior papers, such as certificates of good behavior and certificates issued by the Ministry's various divisions
- The digital wallet, which holds an electronic copy of the cards issued to citizens and residents by the Ministry of Interior.

In terms of the project's desired outcomes, he stated that it aims to improve the level of security in electronic services provided to the public in general, as well as enhance the vision of services without auditors and digital transformation, by issuing electronically certified certificates that comply with the country's laws and regulations.
In terms of how to use and activate the app, he explained that the first stage, which is registration, entails entering the person's personal number, date of birth, and mobile number, with the condition that the number is registered with the same number as the person, and that an OTP message containing a number entered in the field designated for that will arrive, with the goal of ensuring mobile health.
The "Qatar Digital Id card (QDI)" app has been launched on App Store. In the first phase, the application includes digital ID verification and provides easy access to electronic services on the Ministry of Interior website.
