According to Qatar Rail, Doha Metro will now be operating at a reduced 20 percent capacity during the weekdays.
Moreover, the services provided by Doha Metro during the weekends will be temporarily suspended.

This action has been imposed in relation to last night's announcement on COVID-19 restrictions as Qatar is currently facing a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was highlighted that cause for the rise of recent COVID-19 cases was mainly due to social visits.
Qatar Rail had communicated through its Twitter account that the capacity restrictions and suspension of Doha Metro services will take effect starting April 9, 2021.
The measures imposed aim to support the State of Qatar in reducing the spread of the coronavirus.
