Qatar has been ranked the third safest country in the world in Numbeo’s Safety Index by Country 2025 Mid-Year, with a score of 84.6 among 148 countries surveyed. This follows its second-place ranking in 2024, reflecting Qatar’s consistent reputation for safety and security.

The Safety Index, published by global database Numbeo, measures perceived safety based on crime levels, safety when walking alone, and the risk of property and violent crimes. Numbeo’s Crime Index, by contrast, estimates the overall degree of crime, where lower scores indicate safer conditions.

Qatar’s Strong Safety Record

Qatar continues to record very low crime rates, with minimal concerns about home burglaries, car theft, physical assaults, and drug-related offenses. The country also scores highly for daytime and nighttime safety, creating a secure environment for residents and visitors alike.

The Gulf region remains dominant in global safety rankings, with the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain also placing among the world’s top 15 safest countries.

Quality of Life Ranking

In addition to its safety standing, Qatar ranked 16th out of 89 countries in Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index 2025 Mid-Year, scoring 189.4. The index evaluates key factors like healthcare, cost of living, housing affordability, pollution, and climate.
