Qatar Strongly Condemns Houthi Attack on Power Station Serving Prophet's Mosque

Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi group's targeting of a power distribution station in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, that serves the Prophet's Mosque and civilian facilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a serious attack on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, a clear provocation to Muslims, an unacceptable disregard for civilian lives, a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law. It reiterated Qatar's categorical rejection of attacks against holy sites, civilian facilities and civilians, and called for these actions to cease immediately.

The ministry reaffirmed Qatar's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and interests. It stressed that Saudi Arabia's security is an integral part of Qatar's security and the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
