Despite the ongoing illegal siege of Qatar, the country has been moving from strengths to strengths in terms of economic growth.
The Qatari Cabinet has now approved the 2019 draft budget, which includes allocations for plans and projects pertaining to the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well as the Qatar National Vision 2030, reported Gulf Times.
The draft general budget was prepared keeping multiple aims in mind.
The Cabinet approves a draft state general budget for the financial year of 2019, draft law on ratifying the budget, and to refer to the Advisory Council all the main chapters and sectors of the draft budget and the draft law on its ratification.#QNA
First and foremost, it should provide necessary allocations for the plans and projects of Qatar National Vision 2030 with its various economic, social, human and environmental pillars.
The proposed budget also seeks to continue work on increasing Qatar’s non-oil revenues, providing financial allocations for the completion of major projects related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, allocating funds for development of infrastructure in the economic, industrial and logistic areas and supporting initiatives to develop business environment and enhance the role of the private sector and its participation in various economic activities.

The Cabinet lauded HH The Amir’s meetings with the leaders of the two nations and affirmed the agreements and Memorandums of Understanding that were signed during the visits.
The Cabinet also approved drafts executive decisions of Law No. 10 for 2018 regarding Permanent Residence. These drafts have been prepared within the framework of completing necessary decisions to activate the provisions of Law No. 10 for 2018 on Permanent Residence.
The Cabinet approved a draft resolution of the Council of Ministers to determine the duration of the license of commercial, industrial and general shops and street vendors.
It will be valid for a period of not less than one year and not more than five years. The duration of the license will be three years for domestic businesses and two years for street vendors. The licence period is renewable for a period or other similar periods.
