Qatar and Turkey have maintained strong military ties, which were boosted in 2017 when two days after the start of the Gulf crisis, Turkey allowed Turkish troops to be deployed in Qatar and approved an accord on military training cooperation.
The agreements aimed to raise Qatar's defense capabilities, support "counterterror" efforts and maintain security and stability in the region.
