Qatar continues to show its remarkable humanitarian spirit, extending support to friendly countries, as the world battles with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Since the start of the pandemic, the country has offered support in the form of relief aid and assistance to a number of countries.
The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has provided medical and preventive aid from Qatar Charity to Pakistan to combat the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as a demonstration of the State of Qatar's solidarity with Pakistan in the COVID-19 pandemic and an affirmation of the close friendship between the two countries.

The aid was delivered at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Islamabad in the presence of HE Minister of State for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) and Federal Minister for Anti-Narcotics of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehryar Khan Afridi.
HE Shehryar Khan expressed his gratitude for the State of Qatar's support to Pakistan, noting the bilateral relations between the two countries. He also hailed the efforts of the State of Qatar to provide the necessary medical assistance to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world.
For his part, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Pakistan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani highlighted the distinctive nature of the Qatari-Pakistani relations and the joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields and noted the efforts of the State of Qatar to provide the necessary medical assistance to friendly countries to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
HE expressed his hope that this aid will contribute to supporting the Pakistani government's efforts to combat COVID-19, hoping that this crisis will end soon.
Qatar and Pakistan have always enjoyed strong bilateral relations and the two countries have collaborated in several fields to further consolidate their bond.
Since the start of the pandemic, Qatar has been stressing the need for international solidarity and combined efforts to overcome the challenge.
Upon the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the country has generously given medical as well as financial aid to nations deeply impacted by the virus.
In the last six months, Qatar has come to the aid of more than 22 countries including Paraguay, China, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Nepal, Palestine, among others.
