His Excellency Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Senator Chris Murphy on Friday.
The meeting, which took place in Connecticut, saw the two sides review Qatar-US relations, investment and trade prospects, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) revealed in a statement.

The discussion also covered the most recent developments in the region.
Senator Murphy emphasized the strength of the strategic ties between Qatar and the US. He thanked Qatar for the allocation of $100 million to support the UN World Food Program in Yemen for food security and to address the famine in the country.
The aid would support the UN in its relief efforts to conduct its urgent humanitarian programs in Yemen to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
Several heads and representatives of major companies in the state of Connecticut also participated in the meeting between the two officials.
