Qatar’s Shura Council will hold the first regular session of its first legislative term of the Council’s 50th annual ordinary session on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

This comes as His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issues yesterday Decree No. 48 of 2021 inviting the Council to do so.

The Decree is effective from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Earlier, HH the Amir issued Amiri Decision No. 56 of 2021 appointing 15 members of the Shura Council.

The names of the newly-appointed members of the Shura Council are: Yousef bin Ahmed bin Ali bin Omran Al Kuwari; Saad bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Ibrahim Al Muhannadi; Badi bin Ali bin Mohammed Al Badi; Mohammed bin Fahad bin Mohammed Al Musallam; Mohammad bin Mahdi bin Ajayan Al Ahbabi; Sheikha bint Yousef Al Jufairi; Ahmed bin Ibrahim bin Rashid Al Maliki; Saud bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Buainain; Saad bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Misnad; Mohammed bin Mansour bin Khalil Al Khalil Al Shahwani; Hamda bint Hassan bin Abdulrahman Abu Dhaen Al Sulaiti; Ahmed bin Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sabah Al Asiri; Abdullah bin Jaber bin Mohammed Libdah; Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki Al Subaie; Omair bin Abdullah bin Khalid Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.

The decision is effective starting from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Qatar held its first-ever Shura Council elections on October 2, 2021, which saw an impressive voter turnout of 63.5 percent.
