People who want to travel by car should be careful as there are predictions of heavy winds hitting the country.

The Qatar Met Department said that the windy conditions are expected to prevail from this afternoon until Tuesday, reported Gulf Times.

The windy spell is likely to begin in offshore areas today and elsewhere tomorrow, according to the weather report.

The misty and foggy condition is also likely to continue until Friday, reported The Peninsula.

The wind speed will range from 18 to 30 knots at night and the wave height will be between 6 to 10 feet.

The fresh Northwesterly wind is expected to begin on the coasts on Saturday, where it is expected to range from 10 to 25 knots at times. Northwesterly winds will increase on Sunday and Monday, reaching a peak of 38 knots at times causing blowing and rising dust, which may cause low visibility of less than 2km.

Warnings are expected to continue until Tuesday June 20.

Temperatures during this period will be around their normal average where the maximum temperature will be in the mid-40s in Doha.
