To help you decide what to attend, we have put together a list of events taking place across Qatar this weekend.

1. FIFA Club World Cup 2019

Dates: December 11-21, 2019

Where: Khalifa International Stadium and Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium

Entry: Tickets for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup are available at FIFA’s ticketing portal: FIFA.com/tickets.

The FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019, presented by Alibaba Cloud, is the 16th edition of the FIFA-organized annual international club football tournament which is held between the winners of the six continental confederations, as well as the host nation's league champions.

This year's tournament will be hosted from December 11 to 21 at three venues in Qatar. Qatar was appointed as the host for the 2019 and 2020 tournaments on June 3, 2019, serving as test events ahead of Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Participating clubs: Flamengo, Liverpool, Espérance de Tunis, Al-Hilal, CF Monterrey, Hienghène Sport, Al Sadd.

2. Darb Al Saai 2019

Dates: December 12-20, 2019

Where: Darb Al Saai ground (in Al Sadd)

Time: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

Entry: Entry is free for all

This year’s Qatar National Day celebrations will kick off at the Darb Al Saai ground on December 12.

The celebration ground will be filled with stalls and shows highlighting Qatari culture, will have an atmosphere charged with emotions of patriotism, pride, and national identity.

Darb Al Saai means ‘Route of the Messenger,’ used by delegates whom Qatar’s founder would entrust to deliver his instructions and directives. These men were known for their outstanding character traits such as loyalty, obedience, courage, and insight on account of which they were chosen to play such a sensitive role in those difficult times.

The events will begin soon after the official opening ceremony, which is set for 3:30 pm on Thursday. The festivities will continue until 11:00 pm. Darb Al Saai grounds will be open until December 20. Specific slots have been allotted to families and women, besides the general public.

3. Qatar National Day celebrations at Katara Cultural Village

Time: 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Where: Katara Esplanade

Entry: Entry is free for all

Katara Cultural Village is all set to celebrate Qatar National Day with nine-day festivities filled with entertainment activities for families.

4. Traditional Dhow Festival 2019

Dates: December 3 to December 16, 2019

Time: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm

Where: Katara Cultural Village

Entry: Entry is free for all

The festival includes participation of dhows from different countries in addition to the hosts Qatar. It also showcases authentic maritime traditions inspired by Qatar's past ancestors

5. Qatar Balloon Festival 2019

Enriching the vibe of the month is Qatar's first hot-air balloon festival that kicked off on December 7 in Aspire Park with more than 30 balloons from 13 different countries.

The 12-day festival brings together teams from the United Kingdom, the United States, Qatar, Italy, Croatia, France, Lithuania, Spain, and Belgium.

The teams will fly over Doha's landscapes at a maximum height of 2,000 feet (610 meters) every day after sunrise. Each flight will last up to an hour.

6. Al Sidrah Farm

Dates: December 13-14, 2019

Where: Ghashamiyya, Al Shamal Road.

Time: 12:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Entry: QAR 20 per person

The farm offers a lot to its visitors including horse riding, paddle boat riding, traditional cuisine, delicious honey, and Karak.

You can spot turtles on one side and oryx on the other side. You can also learn a lot about the Qatari tradition at the museum. You can also feed animals there!

On December 14, the farm is hosting activities including traditional dance in celebration of Qatar National Day from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will also be live cooking from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
