The UK has added Qatar to its travel red list and has banned all flights from Qatar from Friday.

According to the tweet by British Embassy in Qatar, from March 19, 4 am, direct flights from Qatar to England are prohibited.

Visitors who have been in or transited through Qatar in the previous 10 days cannot enter England.

British and Irish nationals and third-country nationals with residence rights in the UK arriving in England from Qatar will be required to quarantine in a hotel.

Different rules apply for arrivals into Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Travel to Qatar is subject to entry restrictions:

- From August 1, 2020, British nationals outside of Qatar holding Qatar residence permits can enter the country, subject to receiving prior approval.

- From November 29, 2020, any resident leaving Qatar will receive their exceptional entry permit automatically.

- Upon entry to Qatar, you will need to quarantine for 7 days in a government-approved hotel at your own expense.

Further quarantine may be required depending on your test results.
