Did you know that the Department of Traffic can fine motorists QAR1,000 for not reporting accidents within 48 hours, especially hit-and-run cases?
Well dispite these laws in place, some motorists still prefer not to report themselves even if it's just a mishap. But fret not because if you're the victim of a hit-and-run incident, then you just need to follow these steps:
- Go to the nearest traffic department (accidents investigation section) to file a complaint.
- Produce your driving license and registration (if you're the owner of the car)
- If you're not the owner, produce the original Qatar ID of the owner.
- If it's a company car, produce a valid letter from the comapny that specifies the date and location of the incident. Also include details about the damages, name of the driver, copy of company registration and take the car for review.
Make sure you have all of the above depending on the circumstances to make sure you sail through the procedure.
