Anthropic launches Claude Docs and Slides as it expands beyond AI chat

Anthropic announced the launch of Docs and Slides tools for the Claude AI platform, allowing users to create, edit, and share documents and presentations directly via conversations, raising the platform's productivity capabilities and expanding the scope of its competition with Google services.

The two tools, which are launching in beta, allow you to create documents and presentations via any conversation with Claude, with the ability to request additional edits from the assistant or make edits manually, and then export, edit, and share files with others.

In conjunction with this launch, Anthropic announced the simplification of the Claude experience by integrating traditional conversations and Cowork into a unified interface called "One Claude", which provides access to productivity and AI tools from any conversation.

The new interface also includes other features that allow users to take advantage of different tools without having to switch between separate tools.

Anthropic explained that Claude is now able to identify the tools the task requires, and make Cowork and Design capabilities available from any conversation, while leveraging the context, skills, and connections available to the user.

Claude documents can be privately edited, with the ability to share them with other editors to work on at the same time, and participants can add comments similar to the comment mechanism in Google Docs.

The platform allows access to user-generated content via Claude Design, Slides, and Docs through a single, shareable link, which can be opened via phone, making Claude an integrated space for creating, editing, and collaborating on content, rather than just generating text and answering questions.
