H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif at the Amiri Diwan on Thursday to discuss the latest regional and international developments, with a focus on the Middle East.
At the start of the meeting, H.H. the Amir welcomed the Pakistani Prime Minister and his delegation. He praised Pakistan’s role in supporting efforts to ease tensions and promote dialogue aimed at strengthening regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s condemnation of recent attacks targeting Qatar and other countries in the region. He expressed full solidarity with Qatar and its measures to protect its sovereignty, security and stability.
Both sides stressed the importance of de-escalation and stronger international coordination to safeguard regional security. They also highlighted the need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of energy supplies through key maritime routes. The talks also covered bilateral relations, with both leaders reviewing areas of cooperation and ways to expand ties and strengthen their partnership.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, and other senior Qatari officials.
From the Pakistani side, attendees included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State Syed Tariq Fatemi, and senior officials.
H.H. the Amir and the Pakistani Prime Minister also held a separate bilateral session, where they exchanged views on key issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination.
