Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansarihas strongly condemned ongoing attacks in the region, highlighting what he described as a “clear contradiction” in Iranian claims regarding their targets.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Dr Al Ansari stated that while Iranian officials assert that attacks are limited to military bases, evidence on the ground indicates that civilian and industrial facilities are also being struck.
“There is a clear contradiction in Iranian statements. The reality shows that civilian and industrial targets are being hit,” he said.
He stressed that the situation goes beyond military confrontation, describing the attacks as a direct threat to the country’s infrastructure and the safety of its people.
“This is not merely an attack on military sites, but an assault on the resources and security of the Qatari people, and an attempt to tighten the noose around them,” Al Ansari said, noting that attempts to target key facilities, including the airport, led to the temporary closure of Qatari airspace.

Dr Al Ansari added that although the intensity of attacks has decreased, they have not stopped entirely. He reaffirmed Qatar’s firm stance on regional security, rejecting any differentiation between Gulf states.
“We do not accept any distinction between Gulf countries; targeting any one of them is tantamount to targeting all of them,” he said.
Addressing reports suggesting that Qatar is paying to halt the attacks, Al Ansari dismissed the claims as baseless. He clarified that the funds being discussed are part of a pre-agreed international mechanism.
“Qatar is not paying to stop these attacks. We are countering them and reserve the right to respond,” he affirmed.
Dr Al Ansari reiterated Qatar’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and working with international partners to maintain regional stability amid ongoing tensions.
