Qatar and Turkey have enjoyed solid bilateral ties for decades. The relations between the two nations have grown even stronger in recent years, particularly since Turkey's swift support to Qatar in the early days of the Gulf crisis.
According to the Adviser to the Turkish President, Qatar is Turkey's strongest ally and the Qatari-Turkish relations are an exemplary Islamic example.
Over the years the two countries have combined efforts as part of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in fields, including trade, energy affairs, education, healthcare, tourism, and projects related to the hosting of World Cup 2022.
With an ambition to further cement ties, the leaders of the two countries met in Doha yesterday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Doha on a working visit, Qatar News Agency reported. On arrival at Doha International Airport, President Erdogan and the delegation accompanying him were welcomed by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and the Ambassador of Turkey.
During his visit, the Turkish President met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Al Bahr Palace.
The talks between the two leaders focused on bilateral strategic relations and ways to strengthen them further across all domains.

During their meeting, the two leaders also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and around the world in addition to issues of mutual interest and concern.
Following the talks, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of President Erdogan and the accompanying delegation.
Several of Their Excellencies the ministers attended the meeting as well as the banquet.

This was President Erdogan's second visit to Qatar this year following the first in July.
