The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has launched its Back to School 2026–2027 campaign, bringing together interactive activities for students and families with training programmes designed to prepare teachers, school leaders and the wider education community for the new academic year.

Leading this year’s campaign is the "First Step" initiative, which the ministry is launching for the first time in partnership with Rafeeq. The initiative aims to enhance students’ experience at the beginning of their educational journey and targets around 10,700 newly enrolled Grade 1 students across all government schools.

As part of preparations for the academic year, the ministry will hold its annual educational meeting on August 25, 2026, at Qatar National Convention Centre, with the participation of education leaders, teachers and partners.

The meeting will feature more than 15 training workshops, in addition to a panel discussion titled "People First... Authenticity Is Strength... Digitalisation Is Empowerment".

The discussion will address issues linked to the future of education, including keeping people at the centre of the educational process, strengthening identity, values and authenticity in the learning environment, and using digital transformation and modern technologies to empower teachers and learners and improve the educational experience.

As part of the campaign’s community activities, the ministry is renewing its partnership with Mowasalat "Karwa" through a dedicated pavilion at Place Vendôme from August 21 to 27, operating from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The pavilion will offer interactive, entertainment and educational activities for children and families, alongside shows and activities on its stage, combining education and entertainment while strengthening direct engagement between the ministry and the community.

The ministry is also participating as a strategic partner in Al Meera’s Back to School campaign, which is running across a number of its branches from August 15 to September 15, expanding the campaign’s reach to students and families during preparations for the new academic year.

Activities will also take place in Msheireb from August 25 to 27, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, featuring educational, entertainment and interactive activities for children and families.

Through the Back to School 2026–2027 campaign, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education aims to provide an integrated start to the academic year, strengthen shared responsibility towards education, promote a culture of partnership and create an engaging and motivating beginning to the new school year.
