Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced the acceptance of the national payment card HIMYAN in the Kingdom of Bahrain, allowing cardholders to make purchases and withdraw cash through points of sale and ATMs across the country.
The move comes as part of QCB’s efforts to develop digital payment systems and services, support the objectives of the Third Financial Sector Strategy, and strengthen cooperation among GCC countries.
Transactions will be carried out in accordance with the highest standards of security and protection.
The expansion follows a similar agreement with Kuwait announced in December 2025, which enabled HIMYAN cardholders to use the card across the Gulf nation.
QCB said the initiative reflects its commitment to enhancing regional integration in payment systems and expanding the use of national payment solutions across the GCC.
HIMYAN is Qatar’s first national payment card and was launched by QCB to support innovation and digital transformation in the country’s financial sector through secure and efficient local payment solutions.
