Qatar shoots down two Iranian aircraft, intercepts ballistic missiles and drones

Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that the Amiri Air Force successfully shot down two SU24 aircraft, coming from Iran.

The Ministry added that the Qatar Amiri Air Force and Qatar Amiri Navy Forces successfully intercepted seven ballistic missiles through air defenses, and intercepted five drones which targeted several areas in the state today.

This was announced in a statement released by the Ministry on Monday evening.

“The Ministry affirms that the threat was addressed immediately upon detection, in accordance with the operational plan, as all missiles were shot down before reaching their targets,” it said in a statement.

The Ministry further said the Qatar Armed Forces possess full capabilities and resources to safeguard Qatar’s sovereignty and lands, and to respond firmly to any external threat.

The public was also urged to remain calm, adhere to official instructions issued by the security authorities, avoid rumors, and rely solely on information released through official channels.
