The State of Qatar strongly condemned the attack targeting two UAE oil tankers as they transited the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a serious violation of the safety of international navigation and a direct threat to global energy supplies.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack constituted a clear breach of international law.
The Ministry warned that the continuation of such unacceptable attacks represents a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability and undermines efforts to advance peace and stability across the region.
It reiterated Qatar’s call on the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately cease any practices that undermine regional security and refrain from endangering international navigation and global energy supplies.
The Ministry also called on Iran to comply fully with international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 and to take urgent measures to prevent similar attacks from recurring.
