The International Qatari Search and Rescue Group, affiliated with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), has begun field operations to support efforts to combat the widespread wildfires affecting forests in Spain, in cooperation with relevant authorities of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.
As part of the mission, the team held a coordination meeting with the Secretary General for Civil Protection and Emergencies at the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, attended by representatives of local authorities.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments and the current wildfire situation, while outlining a strategic deployment and operational plan for the affected areas.
The Qatari team’s field operations are being conducted from the municipality of Pedralba de la Pradera in Ávila province, within the Castile and León region of central Spain.
