The Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) today announced the launch of its annual humanitarian campaign "Warm Winter 2026-2027" under the slogan "Imagine", which aims to implement a package of vital winter projects and aid over a period of three months, for the benefit of more than 57,000 beneficiaries of refugees, displaced people and the most vulnerable groups in several countries.
Relief aid ranges from winter clothes, mattresses, blankets, heaters, heating fuel, as well as plastic rain sheets.
The list of targeted countries includes: Palestine (Gaza Strip and the West Bank), Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Lebanon, and Jordan, and these projects are planned to be implemented through the Qatar Red Crescent's external offices and missions in coordination with fellow National Societies and concerned authorities in the host countries.
Mr. Abdullah Sultan Al Qattan, Acting Secretary-General of the Qatar Red Crescent, stressed that the campaign represents a call to the community to respond to the call of humanitarian duty and alleviate the suffering of millions of displaced people and refugees who face harsh winter conditions without shelter or heating, indicating the spirit of giving and solidarity enjoyed by the Qatari community, which has been embodied in the continuous interaction with this annual campaign since its launch about two decades ago.
For his part, Mr. Mohammed Badr Al-Sada, Assistant Secretary-General for Relief and International Development at the Qatar Red Crescent, explained that the selection of the beneficiary countries is linked to the combination of the harsh winter climate conditions with the displacement and refugee cases caused by the crises, in order to ensure that the humanitarian impact is doubled and the aid reaches those who deserve it in a timely manner.
Al-Sada praised the role of the Charity Regulatory Authority and the facilities provided to make the campaign a success, pointing out that the Qatar Red Crescent has made available various channels to facilitate donation, including the Society's website and application, donor service phones and home collection, in addition to bank transfers.
