Team Qatar Achieves Historic Third-Place Finish in European Le Mans Series

Team Qatar by Iron Lynx achieved a historic result in the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), finishing third in the overall team standings in the LMGT3 class. The result followed the sixth and final round of the championship, held this evening at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal.

Team members Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi and Julian Hanses also concluded the season in third place in the overall LMGT3 driver standings.

Team Qatar by Iron Lynx entered the final round at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in contention for first place after leading the overall standings following its victory in the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone, the fifth round of the championship. However, the team was unable to retain the lead after receiving a penalty that affected both its result in the final round and its overall standing, which fell to third place.

Despite finishing third, Team Qatar by Iron Lynx became the first Qatari team to achieve this major accomplishment in endurance racing, concluding its season with a notable achievement on the international stage.

The result represents a significant milestone for Qatari motorsport and reflects the continuing efforts of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation to strengthen Qatar’s presence in international championships.
