At least three people have been killed and 58 others wounded in the United Arab Emirates since Iran began its retaliatory campaign in the Gulf in response to US and Israeli attacks.

The UAE’s Defence Ministry said it detected 165 ballistic missiles, destroying 152, and intercepted two cruise missiles. A total of ‘541 Iranian drones were detected, 506 of which were intercepted and destroyed.’

The three dead were from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, said the statement.

The ministry said that on the second morning of the attack, the armed forces destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while eight missiles fell into the sea.

While two cruise missiles and 311 drones were destroyed, 21 drones struck civilian targets.

The ministry said some debris fell in various parts of the country as a result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles and drones, causing minor to moderate material damage to several civilian properties.

It affirmed that the armed forces remain fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats, stressing that the safety of citizens, residents and visitors remains a top priority.
