Qatar condemns renewed Iranian attacks on Kuwait, calls for immediate halt to military action

Qatar has strongly condemned renewed attacks by Iran on Kuwait, describing them as a violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and a breach of international law.

In a statement dated September 3, 2026, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks also constitute a violation of the United Nations Charter and the principles of good neighbourliness.

Qatar warns of further regional escalation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the continuation of the attacks represents a dangerous escalation that could complicate efforts to contain regional tensions.

It warned that continued military action could undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring security and stability in the region.

The ministry said Qatar holds the Islamic Republic of Iran fully legally responsible for the attacks and any resulting consequences.

Qatar reiterates solidarity with Kuwait

Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and expressed support for all legitimate measures taken by the country to safeguard its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

The statement underscores Qatar’s support for its neighbouring Gulf state amid heightened regional tensions.

Call for immediate cessation of military action

Qatar called for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks threatening regional security and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged all parties to refrain from actions that could further widen the conflict and called for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations.

It also stressed the importance of respecting understandings already reached through diplomatic efforts as part of attempts to prevent further escalation and restore stability in the region.
