Qatar’s 2026 Amir Cup delivered a high‑scoring, drama‑filled quarterfinal stage on Friday, setting up semifinals (May 5, Tuesday) between Al Duhail and Al Sadd, and Al Wakrah and defending champions Al Gharafa. Here is a look at how the action unfolded.

Al Wakrah bt Al Rayyan 3-0

At Al Thumama Stadium, Al Wakrah cruised into the last four with a 3-0 win over Al Rayyan. Lucas Mendes opened the scoring with a superb free-kick in the 19th minute, before second‑half goals from Amine Zouhzouh (76’) and substitute Gelson Dala (81’) sealed the result. Al Rayyan hit the post through Róger Guedes and were repeatedly denied by goalkeeper Mohammed Al Bakri, but Al Wakrah’s clinical finishing set up a semi‑final against Al Gharafa.

Al Duhail bt Al Arabi 4-0

At the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Al Duhail overpowered Al Arabi 4-0. Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek struck twice inside 18 minutes, finishing a pass from Sultan Al Brake and then heading in a cross from Edmilson Junior.

After the break, Almoez Ali set up Benjamin Bourigeaud for the third (51’), before Tahseen Mohammed completed the rout with a solo effort in the 89th. The win booked Al Duhail a semifinal against record 19‑time champions Al Sadd.

Al Sadd bt Al Shamal 6-4

At Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Sadd outlasted Al Shamal 6-4 in a thriller.

Goals from Hassan Al Haydos (penalty), Claudinho, and a quick brace by Rafa Mujica put Al Sadd 4-0 up before half-time.

Al Shamal replied through Tamer Seyam, then mounted a late surge with strikes from Baghdad Bounedjah, Jeison Murillo, and Mohammed Omar, cutting the deficit to 5-4. Pushing for an equaliser, they were punished in stoppage time when substitute Dillereson scored Al Sadd’s sixth (97’).

Al Gharafa bt Umm Salal 2-1

Defending champions Al Gharafa edged Umm Salal 2-1 at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Umm Salal struck first via Micheal Baidoo (8’), but Al Gharafa hit back through Ahmed Al Ganehi (18’) and a Ferjani Sassi header from Ryan Al Ali’s cross (32’). Despite second‑half pressure and a near‑miss from Oussama Tannane, Umm Salal could not find an equaliser, sending Al Gharafa into a semi‑final clash with Al Wakrah.
