Doha Team Begins FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau Campaign Tomorrow

Doha will play two matches tomorrow, Saturday, in the qualifying draw for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Macau 2026, held over two days in Macau, China. Sixteen teams from around the world will compete for the title and a total prize pool of USD 185,000.

The Qatari team comprises Mubarak Jama, Mohammed Hashem, Dejan Janjic and Mahmoud Darwish. It will compete in Qualifying Draw B alongside Taipei WanBao of Chinese Taipei and France's Bordeaux.

Doha will begin with a difficult match against Taipei WanBao, the champions of Chinese Taipei, before facing Bordeaux in its second group match. The group winner will advance to the Main Draw and join Pool D, which includes Germany's Baskets Bonn and Skyliners. Both teams are ranked among the top five and are among the leading contenders for the title.

The Qatari team is seeking a strong qualifying performance and victories in both matches to reach the Main Draw and continue representing Qatari basketball at one of the leading stops on the 3x3 World Tour.

The team is relying on the abilities of its players and their cohesion to overcome the qualifying stage. The nature of 3x3 basketball requires quick movement, accurate shooting and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Under the competition format, the qualifying stage comprises two draws of three teams each, with the winner of each advancing to the 12-team Main Draw. Ten teams qualified directly, while the remaining two places will be decided through the qualifying draws.

The tournament features several of the game's leading teams, headed by world No. 1 Ub of Serbia and the Netherlands' Amsterdam RABOBANK, which enters the competition after winning the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bucharest 2026. The field also includes Miami of the United States and Germany's Baskets Bonn and Skyliners, with a high technical standard expected throughout the competition.
