Hamad Medical Corporation receives international accreditation in nuclear medicine

Hamad Medical Corporation has received international accreditation in the field of nuclear medicine, represented by the nuclear medicine and molecular imaging section of the Clinical Imaging Department.

The section received the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence accreditation from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, becoming one of the first centres outside the United States to receive this prestigious recognition.

The accreditation reflects Hamad Medical Corporation’s commitment to providing advanced and high-quality radiopharmaceutical therapy services in line with the highest international standards.

The nuclear medicine and molecular imaging section continues to focus on delivering precise, personalised and targeted treatments that help improve treatment outcomes and enhance the patient experience.

Dr Maryam Al Kuwari, Senior Consultant Radiologist and Chief Radiologist at Hamad Medical Corporation, said the international recognition reflects the excellence of the corporation’s capabilities in this field, as well as its focus on patient safety and providing treatments designed to meet patients’ individual needs.

The nuclear medicine and molecular imaging section currently provides treatments for six types of benign and malignant tumours, reflecting its growing capabilities and leadership in this specialised field.
