As Qatar continues to tackle the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) with a series of preventive and precautionary measures, the country also ensures the continuity and progress of significant projects and processes while implementing safety procedures.

Most government organizations, ministries, and competent authorities have been offering online services to help encourage people to 'stay home.'

To safeguard the health of all in Qatar, in addition to activating distance learning for students, and work from home for most workers in the government and private sectors, the country runs all regular meetings, including the Cabinet sessions, through visual communication technology making sure work is carried out promptly.

The country's leadership and top officials continue to hold meetings via video conferencing.

Recently, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani chaired the second meeting of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment, carried out through visual communication technology.

Yesterday, HH the Amir chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC). This was the first meeting of the SC directors for the year 2020.

HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and HH the Personal Representative of the Amir and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani also took part in the meeting.

HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Board member Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, as well as other Board members, also joined the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the operational plans for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It also delved into updates related to the stadiums and projects in Qatar.

The country is successfully accelerating toward the completion of most of the tournament's facilities.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino also recently praised Qatar's preparations for the World Cup and said it will host an unforgettable edition of the mega tournament.

In February this year, SC also began the official countdown to the tournament, which is displayed on its website.

With about 944 days to go now, Qatar is set to host the most compact FIFA World Cup in modern times, one where fans, players and officials will remain in the thick of the action, never too far from a stadium, training site or fan zone, SC had commented earlier.

Meanwhile, health authorities in Qatar continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
