Nakilat LNG carrier Al Mayeda struck by unknown projectile in Arabian Gulf

Qatar Gas Transmission Company Limited (Nakilat) (a Qatari public shareholding company) said that its liquefied natural gas tanker (Al-Mayda) was attacked by unknown objects while sailing in the Arabian Gulf last Friday evening.

In a statement published by the Qatar Stock Exchange today, the company confirmed that no crew members were injured on board the ship, and the accident did not result in any impact on the environment.

The company said the vessel was in a safe position and able to control its capabilities, and the impact of the accident was being assessed.

It noted that it continues to coordinate directly with the ship and its crew, and the concerned maritime security authorities in the region, to ensure the safety of the crew, and is closely following the developments of the situation.
