National Taekwondo, Judo and Karate Teams Target Strong Showing at Aichi-Nagoya 2026

The national taekwondo, judo and karate teams are preparing for a strong showing at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, in Japan from September 19 to October 4.

Six athletes will represent Qatar across the three combat sports, comprising two women in taekwondo, three men in karate and one woman in judo.

The taekwondo team features Nour Mohammed in the over-67kg category and Maram Al Fatnasi in the under-67kg category. Both have undergone overseas preparation, with training camps forming part of their build-up to the continental competition.

Three athletes will compete in karate, while Qatar will be represented by one athlete in the women's 57kg judo category. Their preparation has included training camps and competitive events aimed at improving technical and physical readiness.

Eid Al Marikhi, President of the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo and Karate Federation, said the objective is to deliver a strong performance, compete for the best possible results and challenge for places on the podium.

The six athletes form part of Qatar's wider delegation of 243 athletes competing across 26 sports and 32 disciplines at Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
