Qatar has spared no effort in supporting Palestine over the years, be it in the form of providing monetary aidrebuilding housesextending medical support, or advocating for the Palestinian cause at various international meetings.

Earlier this year, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reiterated Qatar's strong support for Palestine and the Palestinian people while speaking to the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

During his conversation, HH the Amir stated that Qatar is prepared to work on finding a fair, comprehensive and permanent resolution to the Palestinian issue that must be in line with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The country has once again expressed its firm support to Palestine and its stance on the Palestinian issue, "which stipulates ending the Israeli occupation and establishing the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital," a statement from Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) reads.

This must be "within the framework of international legitimacy and relevant Security Council resolutions while granting all Palestinian refugees the right of return," the statement adds.

According to the MOFA statement, this is what "Qatar sees as the root and sustainable solution to this conflict, which has lasted for more than 70 years."

The Ministry further mentioned that it is unfortunate to witness some misleading media campaigns that have tried to mix up issues and distort Qatar's image at the expense of the brotherly Palestinian people and their legitimate rights at this defining moment in the history of the conflict.

"Qatar will spare no effort in providing whatever support it can to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians until the Palestinian people obtain all their legitimate rights," the statement underlined.
