Qatar Foundation’s Leadership youth conference returns on September 25–26

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has announced that it has completed its preparations to host the second edition of the "Leadership: Aspirations and Development of Muslim Youth in Qatar" conference, under the theme "Through Faith, We Thrive in a Changing World", on September 25 and 26 at the Education City Student Center Forum, with the participation of a group of scholars, thought leaders and inspirational figures.

Dr. Abdulnasser Shamlan Al-Tamimi, Executive Director of Student Services in the Higher Education Sector at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, confirmed in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the second edition of the conference "Leadership – Aspirations and Development of Muslim Youth in Qatar" comes in response to the challenges and rapid changes faced by young people, foremost of which is digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and pressures affecting identity and values.

Dr. Al-Tamimi said that the conference is an open invitation for young people to come together and explore how faith, values and resilience can provide them with guidance and strength in the face of the challenges posed by a complex and rapidly changing world, expressing his hope that the conference will contribute to enhancing the participants' understanding of themselves, consolidating their appreciation of their cultures and values, and renewing their commitment to serving others and contributing to the common good.

He explained that the conference embodies Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development's firm belief, based on its educational mission and Islamic values, that education is not limited to achieving academic success, but also includes building moral character, developing self-discipline and strengthening a commitment to community service.

He pointed out that the conference is a pioneering annual forum that brings together between 1400 and 1500 participants from Qatar Foundation universities, schools and various higher education institutions in the country, aged between 17 and 24 and from a variety of backgrounds, with the aim of providing a space for learning, self-reflection and meaningful communication to support their personal growth and enable them to contribute positively to their communities.

He pointed out that "Leadership" is presented in Arabic and English, with simultaneous interpretation of the main sessions of the conference, which was launched by the Office of Guidance and Moral Support within the Higher Education Sector at Qatar Foundation, in support of the Foundation's mission to promote education, leadership and innovation, and to establish a culture of dialogue and collaboration, and to contribute to creating a positive societal and global impact.

He pointed out that the current edition moves from a focus on theoretical inspiration to a more interactive and applied experience that gives participants practical tools that can be applied in their daily lives, as the program is based on four main pillars, including awareness to understand reality and surrounding transformations, identity to define values and moral and spiritual reference, tools to acquire intellectual and practical skills necessary to deal with challenges, in addition to resilience and action to turn ideas into initiatives and tangible impact in society.

He added that the sessions and workshops will address a number of vital topics, including mental health, resilience, overcoming anxiety and stress, digital and technical awareness, dealing with artificial intelligence and algorithms, religious and spiritual rooting, participation and civic and community responsibility, as well as economic and financial empowerment and decision-making under conditions of uncertainty.

Dr. Al-Tamimi reviewed the results of the first edition of the conference, noting that it witnessed the participation of more than 1467 people, and a daily attendance of more than 1200 participants, with the contribution of 40 speakers who presented 26 sessions, in addition to achieving media reach of 15.7 million people, and a general level of satisfaction that reached 4.7 out of 5.

Concluding his statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Executive Director of Student Services in the Higher Education Sector affirmed Qatar Foundation's commitment to continue empowering young people and providing them with authentic knowledge and guidance aimed at building a conscious and innovative generation capable of making a positive impact, while taking pride in its cultural and Islamic reference, and enhancing the position of the State of Qatar as an inclusive and motivating platform for Muslim youth.
