His Excellency the Minister of Sports and Youth issued Decision No. (75) of 2026 regarding the registration and publicization of the Qatar Cycling Club “Cycles” as a sports club, in accordance with the provisions of Article (53) of Law No. (1) of 2016.
The decision stipulated the registration and official recognition of the club and the adoption of its bylaws, with the Minister of Youth and Sports and the relevant department within the ministry exercising the powers stipulated in the club's bylaws. The decision also obligated all relevant authorities, each within its respective jurisdiction, to implement it, effective from the date of its issuance and to publish it in the Official Gazette.
The basic statute of the Qatar Cycling Club “Cycles” includes 46 regulatory and legal articles that define the nature of the club’s work, its competencies and management mechanisms. Article Five stipulates that the club shall sponsor and develop cycling in all its forms within the country, work to spread its practice and raise its technical level, and raise the level of awareness and sports culture associated with it, in coordination with the competent authorities.
The club is also responsible for developing and implementing training programs and plans, and organizing and holding community and awareness events related to cycling, thereby promoting the health and social benefits of this activity and contributing to attracting participants and establishing a culture of sports participation in the community. The club may, after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Ministry, register or participate in relevant championships, festivals, and competitions.
In the same context, His Excellency the Minister of Sports and Youth issued Decision No. (76) of 2026 regarding the dissolution of the Qatar Cycling Center “Cycles”, where the decision stipulated that all fixed and movable assets owned by the center, along with all rights and obligations assigned to it or on it, shall be transferred to the Qatar Cycling Club “Cycles”, established under Decision No. (75) of 2026.
The decision also stipulated that the Department of Clubs and Sports Bodies at the Ministry of Sports and Youth shall directly undertake the procedures for dissolving the Qatar Cycling Center “Cycles”, and supervise the implementation of the provisions contained in the decision, in order to ensure the transfer of tasks and responsibilities in an organized manner to the new club.
