The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has reminded motorists in Qatar to settle their traffic fines on time to avoid legal consequences and benefit from available payment incentives.

According to the ministry, traffic fines that remain unpaid for more than 12 months will be referred to the competent prosecution, and reconciliation procedures will no longer be permitted.

The reminder encourages drivers to avoid unnecessary legal complications by paying outstanding fines before they reach the 12-month limit.

The ministry also highlighted that motorists can benefit from a 50% discount on selected traffic violations when payment is made within one month from the date the violation is issued.

The initiative aims to encourage prompt payment of eligible traffic fines while promoting compliance with Qatar's traffic regulations.

Motorists can check and pay their traffic violations through the Ministry of Interior's digital services, including the Metrash app and the MOI website.

The Ministry of Interior urged all drivers to review any outstanding fines regularly and settle them within the specified period to avoid legal accountability and take advantage of the available discount on eligible violations.
