Ukrainian president confirms Ukrainian-Russian-American meeting to be held next November

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a meeting between representatives of Ukraine and Russia will be held next November with the mediation of the United States, with the aim of reviving peace negotiations that have been stalled since the beginning of this year.

President Zelensky said in his remarks, "We are ready to negotiate, and if it is about the land issue, it should be discussed at the level of the leaders, and other issues are the competence of the technical groups, all of which can therefore be discussed in November."

Direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have already been held in 2025, but they have not led to any resolution of the dispute, as both sides have stuck to their terms.

President Zelensky reiterated his rejection of a number of Russian demands, considering that the security guarantees demanded by his government by its Western allies, the size of the Ukrainian army and Ukraine's freedom to choose its alliances are "non-negotiable."

He stressed that the issue of Russian-occupied territories demanding the withdrawal of the Ukrainian army from them can only be discussed during a meeting between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian president reiterated his call for a ceasefire that includes energy facilities.

Russia rejects any cessation of war until an agreement is reached on key contentious topics, arguing that the truce will allow Ukraine to rearm.
