17 beach cleanups are happening across Qatar this September

The Ministry of Municipality has announced an expanded Beach and Island Cleanup Campaign for September 2026, inviting members of the community to volunteer at 17 locations across Qatar.

Organised by the General Cleanliness Department, the campaign will run from September 13 to 26, with a combination of morning and evening cleanup sessions.

The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s community programmes for 2026 and supports sustainability efforts under Qatar National Vision 2030.

Cleanup campaign begins September 13

The first sessions will take place on Sunday, September 13, with a morning cleanup at Zekreet followed by an evening session at Simaisma Family Beach.

On September 14, volunteers can join a morning cleanup at Abu Fontas or an evening session at Al Jassasiya.

The following day will include morning sessions at Al Shamal Corniche and Abu Samra.

More locations scheduled throughout the week

On September 16, the campaign will continue with:

• Arida — Morning
• Sealine — Evening
• Al Ghariya — Evening

September 17 will feature a morning session at Al Wakra Family Beach and an evening cleanup at Al Safliya Island.

On September 18, volunteers can participate at Furaiha in the morning, followed by evening sessions at Umm Reeh and Al Wakra Public Beach.

Campaign continues until September 26

The September 19 schedule includes a morning cleanup at Doha Umm Al-Maa and an evening session at Ras Matbakh.

The campaign will conclude on September 26 with a morning cleanup at Al Arish Beach.

Community volunteers invited to participate

The Ministry is encouraging residents to select the location and session most convenient for them and register through its official campaign registration platform.

The initiative aims to involve the community directly in protecting Qatar’s coastline, while raising awareness about waste reduction and responsible use of beaches and public spaces.

The campaign also reinforces the message that protecting Qatar’s beaches and marine environment is a shared community responsibility.
