About 45 members of the 6th edition of the Internet Protocol team in the State of Qatar are participating in the program, as part of the Authority's efforts to develop specialized technical skills and enhance the security and resiliency of the Internet infrastructure in the country.
The program is aimed at representatives of stakeholders in the ICT sector, and is implemented through the distance learning experience provided by Ripe NCC, where it combines live online training sessions with self-paced learning courses through the Ripe NCC Academy platform.
The program also provides participants with the opportunity to take an exam to obtain a professional certificate, which is awarded upon successful passage.
In this context, Mr. Ali Al Suwaidi, Director of the Technical Affairs Department at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), reiterated the Authority's commitment to developing national technical capabilities and ensuring the security and reliability of Qatar's internet infrastructure, in order to enable it to keep pace with changing requirements, adding that the program supports these efforts aimed at enhancing specialized expertise in the fields of implementation of the Internet Protocol Version 6 and Internet routing security, in line with the goals of the Digital Agenda 2030 and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
As part of the keenness to invest in specialized training and knowledge development, in a way that contributes to qualifying cadres with the necessary skills to support the continuous development of the digital infrastructure in the country and enhance its security.
Mr. Ali Al Suwaidi appreciated the cooperation of Ripe NCC in implementing this program, and its role in supporting the transfer of knowledge and the development of specialized technical expertise in the ICT sector.
Dr. Shafiq Shea, Regional Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for the Middle East at Ripe NCC, said that the wide participation in this program reflects Qatar's interest in developing the skills needed to support a secure, resilient and growth-oriented Internet infrastructure. The implementation of the sixth version of the Internet Protocol and the enhancement of the security of Internet routing are important technical areas to support the stability, security and continuous development of the Internet."
