Umm Wishah claims first career win in Al Beshariyah Cup

Umm Wishah claimed her first career victory with a strong late run to win the Al Beshariyah Cup at Al Rayyan Racecourse, the feature event of the fifth meeting of Qatar’s 2026–27 domestic horse racing season.

Owned by Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Abdullah Hamad Al Attiyah, the four-year-old filly was ridden by Arnaud de Lepine and trained by Ahmed Al Jehani.

The feature race was contested over 1,900 metres on dirt and was open to Purebred Arabian premium maidens.

Strong finish in the final 200 metres

Umm Wishah raced towards the rear before moving into a more prominent position and producing a strong run in the final 200 metres.

She crossed the line 3¼ lengths ahead of Radad, ridden by Saleh Salem Al Marri for trainer Jassim Hamad Al Attiyah.

Durra, ridden by Szczepan Mazur and trained by Hamad Al Jehani, finished third.

The race attracted 12 runners.

The victory came in Umm Wishah’s third start, after she had finished runner-up two weeks earlier.
