Scoring Spree in Opening Four Rounds of Ministries and Government Entities Indoor Football Championship

The opening four rounds of the eighth Sports for All Ministries and Government Entities Indoor Football Championship 2026 produced 76 goals at Lusail Sports Hall. The championship is organised by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, with competition intensifying for the group leads and qualification places in the subsequent rounds.

Following the first four rounds, Qatar News Agency led Group One with six points, followed by Qatar Media Corporation on the same total. The Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and the Assets Sector remained without points. In Group Two, the Public Works Authority led with four points, while the Ministry of Transport and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority were tied for second with three points each. The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs had one point, while the State Audit Bureau remained without points.

Qatar Museums led Group Three with four points, one ahead of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Municipality, which each had three points. The Ministry of Justice remained without points. The Ministry of Defence led Group Four with six points, followed by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Health with three points each, while the Qatar Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Social Development and Family had yet to collect a point.

Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, described the group-stage competition as strong and exciting, with distinguished technical performances reflecting the championship’s development from one edition to the next. He said the opening four rounds were characterised by intensity, closely matched performances from some teams and the distinction of others, which heightened the contest for the group leads and qualification places and added further excitement to the matches.

Al Dosari said spectator attendance enhanced the championship’s atmosphere and gave players additional motivation to deliver their best. He added that the championship’s objectives extend beyond competition, as it provides a sporting gathering for employees of ministries and government entities, supports the Sports for All goal of expanding participation in physical activity and reinforces the concept of sport as a way of life. Matches will resume after the end of the mid-semester school break.
